A lot has been said about Kikao64, a creative, co-working space in the heart of Eldoret and one of the remarks that have remained constant is the artistic, beautiful space that makes up Kikao64.

If you follow Kikao64 on Instagram, you must have been captivated by the beautiful photography that perfectly captures every single detail of Kikao64’s premises.

I caught up with the gifted hands behind the photography; Maganga, who is the official Photographer of Kikao64 and he shares his thoughts.

Q.Could you describe your first reaction the first time you got a glance of Kikao64?

When I was called for the job, I was honestly not ready for what awaited me in Eldoret! The brief just said it was a co-working space but when I got to Kikao64 I was completely blown away.

I love beautiful spaces and as an interior design enthusiast, I know what a beautifully done space looks like; Kikao64 was quite something.

Q. What in your view makes Kikao64 Unique?

Apart from the beautifully curated space I must say it’s the fact that the management has plans. The place is not static, they always have plans to provide value to all the people that come to use the facility and I find that amazing.

Everything about Kikao is well thought out, from the décor, furniture, the books, events …

Q. What excites you every time you go over for a shoot, seeing that it’s still the same space you get to photograph?

A beautiful space never gets out of style or inspiration. There’s always a different angle to look at it.

I enjoy reconnecting with old friends that I have been able to meet in Kikao64 and men! the coffee! You know coffee is the fuel that drives every creative! Every time I’m here for a shoot, the coffee is definitely one of the things I look forward to.

I also love the fact that the management created something beautiful and people actually came! this always brings life to the amazingly curated space.

Q. As a creative, is Kikao64 a space you could work from?

Yes. Mostly because Kikao64 has different spaces that caters for all people of different personalities; quiet spaces where you can seat alone and open spaces where you get to work among other peer coworking colleagues.

We also know that coffee is the fuel for every creative and at Kikao64, the aroma and the cup is bountiful to keep you working.

Maganga Mwagogo has been doing photography as a fulltime profession for the last five years, with two-years’ experience in filmmaking.
